Write up for Shoot em down game

To build and program this game in action script I used the web resources as well as literary resources to research what an action script is and how it functions.
I then proceeded to familiarise myself with flash, following a few simple tutorials regarding the understanding of how to code in action script the I made alterations and searched as well as tested many different variables very stringently within the code and experienced what possible results could be achieved.
When thinking what game I was going to do I came up with the idea of a spooky feeling old school shooter so I drew up a few ideas on paper initially before starting the project fully in electronic means, this was to provide prior planning and slightly more understanding of the code before placed into an electronic function, whilst also deciding upon the final images and aesthetic features that would be provided.
I have found action script to be fun to code with and found it offers some great rewards. The game was titled “shoot em down”, the main problem I had with this game was trying to get the timer as well as the main title screen and menu working, as In the early stages the main menu even when converted into a button would not perform the desired function. It was only after some meticulous research, planning and work that I realised that the pre made button would not operate to what I needed unless I placed text upon it , thus granting it functionality and enabling the start of the game.
It still currently has a few bugs within the game, the main one being that even though in the code I have stop(); at the frame of the end of the game you can still continue to play regardless of the ending after the 20 seconds are up .I tried to implement a score board I found this troublesome due to to the fact that the code was not storing the high scores, during the time I have spent learning and building this game it has taught me a lot within the action script language and its uses within the market. I have found it both enjoyable and challenging and is surely a task and activity I will endeavour to improve myself further in, creating and adding newer and more professional and improved games to my site and start to build a collection of my own work, that I will be able to use as both reference for future action script tasks and as a standard to set my newer games by, thusly improving them and achieving a greater understanding of the language.

Hello im Ben Oats AKA Beep if you wish to view my personal site click here .

Write up

My personal website was built using XHTML, Java script and CSS i used javascript to validate the message email and name .

I have kept the site simple yet effective and the code is free to upgrade to HTML 5 at anytime.

The reason i have not used HTML 5 yet is that i personally feel that HTML 5 is not ready for use yet and still has some bugs to sort out .

As the site has been built using dream weaver i have not used any templates that a person mite have used if was working an a development tool such as wordpress.

The site was put online using a subdirectory and uploaded the files using filezila.

Conciliation

The site i have created is personal simple profetional and easy to navigate around .

I feel i could of created a more flashy stylish site if i had used HTML 5 or had included flash.

I feel i could of used some seo to improve my rank and help the google bots run through .
