Project Synaptix

Description

Project is to create a graphical visualization which can interact with sound. This will be teamed with an interactive environment or space which can be used to manipulate both the visualizations and the sound through movement.

Project

The project entails creating visualizations and sound samples.  These visualizations would be capable of reacting with music samples.  Users will also be able to manipulate these visualizations through a webcam which will be used to capture motion. The installation will also allow the user to manipulate sound samples through music.

Technical Description

We will mainly be using Processing to create this interactive software.  We will use digital audio workspace to create sound samples. These sound samples will be fed into Pure Data which will be used to trigger these sounds. Pure Data will be linked to Processing using OSCP5 library.  We will import the Beads library into Processing to make the sound better.  The JMyron library will be also imported into Processing which will be used to capture motion from a webcam that will be used to manipulate sound samples and visualizations.
